Shevlin put on fast track for cleanup

Park district wants popular, storm-damaged area open by mid-March

The Bend Metro Park and Recreation District board agreed Tuesday to declare an emergency at Shevlin Park so more than 220 trees that fell during a January windstorm can be cleared away quickly.

District officials said they hope to have the park reopened by mid-March.
