Landmark hotel closes in the Columbia Gorge

HOOD RIVER — The Columbia Gorge Hotel was built in 1921 as the “Waldorf of the West” and housed the likes of Rudolph Valentino, Shirley Temple, Calvin Coolidge and Franklin Roosevelt.
