Recovery isn’t likely in 2009, scholars forecast

Bend remains a desirable place to live and people will still move to the area, but job losses in the region will likely continue into 2010 with no real signs of a local economic recovery until 2011, California economist Bill Watkins told a full house at the Tower Theatre on Tuesday.
