Grants may aid area forests

Federal money could be used by local groups for habitat protection projects

Groups with an idea for how to restore watersheds and forests, but in need of money to put it into action on the ground, now have an opportunity to apply for some of the $850,000 that the U.S. Forest Service will distribute in Deschutes, Crook, Jefferson, Klamath and Wheeler counties.
