Herb and Lynne (Beguhl) Ekstrom, of Bend, celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary Dec. 27 with a surprise dinner party hosted by friends.

The couple were married Dec. 22, 1978, in Boise, Idaho. They met while working at Pilot Butte Elementary School. They have one child, Erik, of Bend.
