Lane County district attorney reflects on post he’s leaving after 34 years

EUGENE — After 34 years as a Lane County prosecutor and almost a quarter-century as district attorney, Doug Harcleroad will leave this week.

Alex Gardner ran unopposed for the post in May.

Most new officials will be sworn in on Jan. 5. But Gov. Kulongoski appointed Gardner to the job....
