David Rampe, New York Times foreign desk editor, dead at 60

NEW YORK — David Rampe, an editor on the foreign desk of The New York Times who helped shape the newspaper’s coverage of the Sept. 11 attacks and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, died Wednesday in Manhattan. He was 60 and lived in Manhattan.
