Stocks fell Thursday and oil prices closed below $40 per barrel, skidding to their lowest levels in more than four years amid signs that the global demand for oil was falling faster than oil-producing nations could slash output. Oil prices fell $3.84 to settle at $36.22 per barrel in New York.....
