A former star at Mountain View, Kailin Downs is now an assistant coach with Oregon State

It has been a long time since Kailin Downs has spent a winter in Oregon.

As a college golfer and later a touring professional, Downs spent the majority of her winters in sunny Albuquerque, N.M., home of her alma mater, the University of New Mexico.
