Care for kids, right in school. Payment? On a sliding scale

A new school-based clinic for children in Redmond is one of several in the area. The clinics go beyond the usual school-nursing responsibilities, and, perhaps most important in the current economy, accept students who have no insurance.

Anthony Mazzarillo, 10, was playing with a friend on Wednesday when the two held a duel using foam-pellet guns.

Anthony lost.

One of the small foam pellets hit the fourth-grader in the eye, making it swell.
