Timber company to lay off 201 employees in Oregon

GLENDALE — Troubles in the wood-products industry continued this week as the Swanson Group of Glendale announced another 201 layoffs in Oregon.

President and CEO Steve Swanson says housing starts were abysmal in 2008, and the outlook for next year is even more grim.
