C. Harmon Brown was pioneer sports doctor

Dr. C. Harmon Brown, an endocrinologist who helped develop the field of sports medicine, including doing influential research on the effects of strenuous exercise on the female body, died Tuesday. He was 78 and lived in San Mateo, Calif.
