Redmond racewalkers John and Darlene Backlund competed and triumphed in the 2008 Huntsman World Senior Games on Oct. 6-8 in St. George, Utah.

John Backlund competed in the men’s 65- to 69-year-old age group, winning gold in the 1,500-meter race with a time of 9 minutes, 28.67 seconds....
