Tuskegee airman Vernon Sport was affirmative-action advocate

Until Vernon Sport and other members of the Tuskegee Airmen received a Congressional Gold Medal last year, many of his friends in Conyers, Ga., had no idea he had been part of the nation’s first group of black military pilots.
