The 10th annual Pilot Butte Challenge, a one-mile running race up Pilot Butte in Bend, will be held Sunday, Sept. 28. Participants will climb 493 feet in elevation.

During the race, the road to the top of the butte will be closed to vehicles, and the nature trail will be closed to pedestrians....
