COOS BAY — Chief David Brainard, the spiritual and political leader of the Confederated Tribes of the Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians, has resigned, citing personal reasons.
He was elected in 2005 to complete the term of James Lott. A term runs 10 years.
