Saturday’s scorching temperatures broke records around the state — and in Central Oregon, where highs reached well into the 100s.

Redmond hit 106, breaking the record of 103 degrees, set in 1967, said Jim Smith, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Pendleton.....
