Dry River Canyon now open to hikers

Dry River Canyon, near the Badlands east of Bend, is now open to all nonmotorized uses.

The popular hiking canyon had been closed since last winter to protect nesting birds.

The canyon is especially nice for hiking in fall and early winter, according to Gavin Hoban of the Bureau of Land....
