‘We’ll never know’ why patient died, surgeon testifies

A Bend doctor broke down Wednesday as he spoke about his friend and patient who died after elective surgery in 2006.

Anthony Hinz was the first witness called in the case of Stephen Brenn, who died in April 2006 at St. Charles Bend after Hinz performed his routine ankle surgery.
