Philip Coady commanded in Gulf War

Philip Coady Jr., 66, a Navy rear admiral who commanded a 10-ship battle group during the Gulf War and, in retirement, spent a decade as president and chief executive of a veterans benefit organization, died June 30 at his home in Annandale, Va. He had pulmonary fibrosis and lung cancer.
