Prolific Western writer Dwight Newton, 92, of Bend, will read a selection from his work at July’s Second Sunday presentation. It’s scheduled for 3 p.m. July 13 in the Brooks Room of the Bend Public Library, and it’s free.

Newton is the author of more than 70 novels....
