Bend’s Max King falls short in steeplechase at Trials

EUGENE — Max King gave a hard kick at the end, but by then it was too late.

King, of Bend, finished two spots away from advancing to the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase finals during the preliminaries on Thursday at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials at Hayward Field.
