LIHUE, Hawaii — Bryan Baptiste, the mayor of Kauai, has died. He was 52.

Baptiste was at home Sunday when he went into cardiac arrest, the mayor’s office said in a statement. Paramedics tried to revive him, but he was pronounced dead at a hospital.
