Bend police took custody of 21 dogs Tuesday found in a van in the parking lot of Wal-Mart and turned them over to the Humane Society.

A patrol officer and community service officer went to Wal-Mart, 20120 Pinebrook Blvd., about 4:30 p.m. after a caller reported the van, which had a strong smell....
