Land near Redmond could see industrial overhaul

State, local planners eye 945 acres as regional hub

On a barren plot of land south of Redmond, state and city planners envision assembly plants or shipping centers on nearly 1,000 acres of industrial land.

They hope the land, which the state recently acquired from the federal government, will help Central Oregon attract large companies it so far....
