SEATTLE — The Seattle Mariners placed closer J.J. Putz on the 15-day disabled list with a hyperextended pitching elbow, the 2007 All-Star’s second trip to the DL already this season.

Putz, who has struggled for much of this woeful Mariners season, has already missed 18 games....
