PORTLAND — Staff at the Umatilla County jail performed CPR on a suspected rapist found hanging in his cell.

The authorities say an ambulance took 28-year-old David Malone to a Pendleton hospital early Tuesday, and he was later flown to OHSU hospital in Portland.
