Warmer weather should accelerate what has been a slow spring thaw.
The snow line around the Mount Jefferson Wilderness and McKenzie Pass is at around 4,900 feet, 5,700 feet near Three Creeks Lake, 4,800 feet in the vicinity of Elk Lake and 6,300 feet at Newberry Crater to the east.
