Deschutes County’s tiny residents weigh in

Prenatal care helps area babies to avoid low birth weight

Oregon has the lowest percentage of low birth weight babies in the U.S., according to a study released today by the Annie E. Casey Foundation.

While the state ranked the best nationwide, the number of low birth weight babies increased from 2,512 in 2000 to 2,793 in 2005, a 0.5 percent increase.....
