Brewers aim to (legally) send suds through mail for contests

WASHINGTON — Dozens of amateur brewers flaunted federal law last month when they sent their homemade suds to a Central Oregon home-brew contest — by U.S. mail. Under U.S. law, it’s illegal to mail any beer.
