At an old Redmond Army base, it’s goodbye to asbestos

The city of Redmond and the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality are removing about 600 tons of asbestos-tainted soil from a 60-acre site near Redmond Airport.

The cleanup is making way for the land to be included in a planned golf course and business development.
