Walden wants easier thinning

Lawmaker unveils forest bill aimed at wildfire mitigation

WASHINGTON — U.S. Rep. Greg Walden says the 2003 Healthy Forest Restoration Act worked so well to reduce wildfire danger near cities that he wants to extend the law further into the woods.
