Deschutes County Commission race: Democrat Alan Unger, Redmond mayor, is from a family with a tradition of public service

When Alan Unger was growing up, he watched his father serve on the school board, start the first medical clinic in Redmond, and deliver many of the city’s babies.

That tradition of public service has continued with Unger and several of his siblings.
