The U.S. Forest Service is proposing a large-scale wildfire thinning project on roughly 11,000 acres east of La Pine.

The Deadlog Vegetation Management Project would involve cutting trees and removing potential fuel for wildfires in a spot where too many small trees could cause fires to burn....
