Owl chick hatches at High Desert Museum

The first of two spotted owl chicks hatched at the High Desert Museum on Thursday afternoon.

The chick doesn’t have a name yet, and biologists won’t know the chick’s sex for several days.

It’s the fourth set of eggs for Polka and Dot, the two resident owls....
