The Deschutes Pioneer Association chose Georgia Gallagher, of Sisters, as the Deschutes Pioneer Queen for 2008.

Gallagher replaces Helen Varco Brown as the Pioneer Queen, a role that honors the history of the queen and her family in Central Oregon.
