“Now here’s a spooky thing,” says Robert Cordes, 50, the remarkable survivor of a head-on collision in December that very nearly killed him.

The accident occurred after a snowfall on the morning of Dec. 17, Cordes explains. He was driving on an icy U.S. Highway 20....
