Bend firefighters to check smoke alarms

Bend firefighters and volunteers will begin knocking on doors today to provide free smoke alarms to residents of neighborhoods on the north side of Bend, according to a news release from the Bend Fire Department.

Firefighters will visit the Juniper, Hilltop and Mountain Vista mobile home parks....
