Region’s jobless rates creep further upward

After ‘peak employment,’ rates may be a return to normalcy, economist says

Central Oregon’s jobless rates ticked upward in Crook, Jefferson and Deschutes counties in January, with Jefferson’s unemployment rate approaching 10 percent, according to a monthly Oregon Employment Department report released Monday.
