For first time since 2001, key sectors see job losses

Industry leaders unsure what’s in store for future

The housing market slowdown in 2007 contributed to the first simultaneous drop in jobs in Central Oregon’s construction and manufacturing sectors since 2001, according to a year-end employment report from the Oregon Employment Department.
