Bethlehem Inn a step closer to expanding

Sewer hookup will allow homeless shelter to serve more than twice as many people

Workers laid blacktop over a new sewer line at the Bethlehem Inn on Wednesday, paving the way for the homeless shelter’s long-awaited expansion.

The shelter on the north side of Bend, which currently serves 40 residents, will be able to more than double its capacity to about 90....
