Bend Park and Rec OKs $7.5M for new building

District under fire for not moving ahead on planned sports fields

The Bend Metro Park and Recreation District board signed off on a $7.5 million project for a new administration building Tuesday.

At its regular meeting, the board voted 5-0 to approve a nearly $5.8 million contract with Beaverton-based construction firm Skanska for the planned building.
