Schools’ bad beef is safely on ice

Bend-La Pine will await the USDA’s further instruction

Bend-La Pine Schools has 50 cases of Westland beef sitting in its freezers, meat that is part of the 143 million-pound beef recall announced Sunday by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
