The temperature in Bend rose to 45 degrees Thursday, but some roads just kept getting worse all day.

The relatively warm temperature was no relief after a few inches of fairly smooth ice turned into slush in parts of the city. Main roads stayed relatively clear while slush and uneven tire ruts....
