High weight means high risk

Study quantifies the increased toll on the heart from just a few extra pounds during childhood

Doctors long have known that overweight kids tend to become overweight adults, and that overweight adults tend to have higher rates of heart disease. But a new study published last month in the New England Journal of Medicine has done the best job so far of connecting those dots.
