Stands of aspen trees, which provide habitat for wildlife and brilliant fall colors for leaf-peepers, are shrinking in the Ochoco National Forest, as they are across the West.
Conifer trees are edging into the stands, and new aspen trees aren’t sprouting fast enough to replace the ones....
