Bend man goes on spree, buys 48 cartloads for kids

Holding a receipt that touched the floor, a Bend man bought more than $18,000 worth of Christmas toys for needy children Wednesday at the Bend Wal-Mart.

Ron Saunders, 54, used a credit card to purchase 1,500 gifts ranging from Barbies to Battleship sets that filled 48 shopping carts and totaled....
