EUGENE — Former and current Bend mayors Bill Friedman and Bruce Abernethy can be deposed by the lawyer for the bus company that sold the city of Bend a half-dozen used buses, a federal judge ruled Tuesday.

But the depositions cannot probe the reasoning behind actions the councilors....
