Oregon’s U.S. senators support farm bill, but it fails to move forward

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Senate failed to push forward a $286 billion package of farm and nutrition proposals in a vote on Friday, even after some Democratic leaders threatened to put the bill out to pasture for the year.
