A new holiday event is scheduled for Dec. 31: Bend’s First 1,000 Lights Walk. Hosted by the Smith Rock Race Group, the event is a benefit for the Central Oregon WishGranters.

The course will begin on the south side entrance of Juniper Swim and Fitness Center in Bend, and participants....
